Overview
On completion of the course, delegates shall be able to: –
– To fully understand their duties and responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
– The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and
– Safety in the use of Abrasive Wheels HS (G) 17

Description
Course Content: The course will cover the following: –
– Understanding of legal requirements
– Hazards arising from use of abrasive wheels
– Methods of marking, storing, handling and transporting
– Functions of components
– Methods of inspection, mounting, testing, dressing, balancing and adjustment of abrasive wheels
– Personal protection and ensuring suitable personal protective equipment
– Test Paper (Theory)
– Practical demonstration
Training Method: Theory with discussion. Power Point presentation. Practical demonstration.
Course Materials: Provided by tutor.
Who is this course for?
All personnel required to operate and change abrasive wheels or cutting off discs.
Requirements
There are no set entry requirements for this qualification. However, attendees must have a good understanding of spoken and written English.
