Description

This module will examine the key issues in the important areas of Working Time and holidays. This includes how many hours employees are expected to work each week, entitlements to lunch, rest breaks and holidays. The course will look at situations such as:- when time off may be paid or unpaid, including time off for sickness how many days holiday employees are entitled to, and when they can be taken how leave should be booked, what happens if you are new or too many people request leave for the same time how holiday pay should be calculated and what happens to holiday pay on termination of employment.

The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
