Description

Issues of human rights, hate crime, and democracy are becoming ever more extensive in the UK and the world, it is more important than ever to be informed on the measures that can be used to help prevent terrorism and promote safeguarding and British Values within society.

This course will help equip you with a detailed understanding of how to recognise extremism and radicalisation, the principles of safeguarding, the Prevent duty and its importance in society, and the importance of online safety and British Values.

Course Length: On average, this course is completed within 5 – 10 weeks. But the more time you dedicate, the sooner you can complete it. The pace of the learning is up to you.

Free Course for: Anyone who is Living in Greater London, unemployed (and in receipt of benefits), aged 19 or over and has been living in the European Union for the last 3 years.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed to help learners develop understanding and skills to enable them to uphold British values in their current or future roles. This might include community work, social work, healthcare, education and various other industries and roles.

Requirements

This qualification is 100% government funded if:

  • You were born before the 31st August 2002
  • You must currently live in England. However, anyone living in the following areas is not eligible for funding: London, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West Midlands and West of England
  • You have lived in the European Union for the last 3 years (unless you have have been given a special Visa/Residence permits that gives you the permanent right to remain)
  • Are Unemployed and can provide evidence (Subject to eligibility)
  • Can provide Identifications and relevant documentation as required

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
