Overview
Did you know that autism affects an estimated 1 in 100 children in the UK and for every 3 people diagnosed, a further two are left undetected? People living with ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) will experience challenges with communication and social interactions and will display restrictive and repetitive behaviour. Autism is not always immediately apparent, and the symptoms can be more severe for some than others. Awareness of the condition is growing by the day, and so is the need for people who understand it. Brilliant news – this level 2 course in understanding autism does exactly that, whether you’re a parent with a child with ASD, or you’re looking for a boost in career opportunities within teaching or caring.
You’ll develop a broad knowledge of how to provide support to individuals living with ASD to live a healthier and more fulfilled life, and gain tips on communication and socially interaction. You’ll delve into sensory processing, perception and cognition in individuals with autism, and how to aid more positive behaviour too. Designed with you in mind, our courses offer the flexibility and convenience of studying in your own time, at your own pace.
