Overview

Listening Skills

Listening is an active process of creating a strong relationship among working staff. Active listening is vital to avoid communication errors as effective listening creates good understanding between people especially between the customers and organization, because well-developed listening skills influence customers’ interaction.

Now-a-days business owners reckoned the listening skills for the development of their business, and to promote the positive relationships with consumers. The significance of listening is not just limited to the academic or professional settings but it goes far beyond

Good communication endorses our personal and professional relationships and becomes the cause to avoid conflicts. It also enhances productivity and improves our negotiation skills. You will be appreciated when u are a good listener.

If you are doing active listening, you will feel yourself in comfort zone to understand the other person’s conveyed message with his intensions. Active listening is a skill to give individual attention, avoid interruption, repress emotional responses, and pay attention to non verbal messages. Listening is beyond the words and more than hearing. We need to enhance listening skills in every corner, and quarter of the society.

This unit offers an exceptional introduction to the fundamentals of listening and describes the active listening skills. A variety of key topics are explored in-depth, including the responding to feelings, what is said and what is heard including a look at reading cues.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
