Previously known as PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector), the PTLLS online training course is now called the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF). This course serves as a foundation level, and if you wish to expand your knowledge, you can continue with levels 4 and 5.
How the course is delivered:
The qualification is delivered through online learning materials, reading material, videos, audio, email support from tutors, telephone support, and other necessary resources. Knowledge and understanding are assessed through written questions and answers, while competence and skills are assessed via a micro teaching session.

Study Hours:
Approximately 48 hours of study time.
Assessment:
This award is assessed through assignments and a 15-minute microteaching session. Assignments require learners to write short papers related to the course topics. The microteaching session showcases the content covered in the course units, including an introduction, inclusive lesson delivery, learner assessment, and lesson summary. Learners are expected to provide written materials such as a scheme of work, lesson plan, learner evaluation, and self-evaluation of their performance. Feedback will be provided by the tutor, and if necessary, learners can resubmit their assignments.
Course Duration:
You have 12 months to complete the course, but you can spread the hours as you prefer. Throughout this time, you'll have 24/7 access to your online portal, where you can view course content and submit assignments.

This is an online course. You will have access to our online portfolio, which includes interactive content, online assessment materials, and unlimited tutor support via email or telephone.
Entry Requirements
There are no specific entry requirements, but learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy, or an equivalent qualification. These qualifications are suitable for learners aged 18 and above.
