The Level 3 Award in Education and Training is designed to give people the knowledge and confidence to teach in the post 16 education sector. This could be as a trainer in the private training industry or as a teacher/lecturer in further education.
This qualification replaces the old PTLLS course. Certifying people to teach at a nationally accredited standard.

MICRO TEACH can be delivered remotely

This course is 100% online. With the addition of a microteach. Certain requirements may require you to visit our office in Leeds to provide a 15 minute training session. You will need to allocate 1 hour in total. All travelling costs etc will be covered by the learner and not the centre. You can work through the modules in your own time and pace. Eligibility;

  3. Read and write English at a GCSE level or equivalent

In order to gain this qualification you can purchase the course online. Your assessor will introduce themselves within 48 hours and provide details to access the modules and assignments. You will gain access to the learning material and assignments to progress through your qualification.

You will learn the skills and qualities required to become a successful teacher/trainer.

  • Unit A looks at your roles and responsibilities as a teacher.
  • Unit B involves planning your own session and the importance of providing an inclusive teaching setting that meets all individual needs.
  • Unit C investigates the three main types of assessment in teaching and the pivotal role that ongoing assessment in teaching plays.

YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO UPLOAD ONE MICRO TEACH AS THE EVIDENCE CAN BE USED FOR ALL MODULES WHICH REQUIRE EVIDENCE OF MICRO TEACHING (unit 303 and 306)

Unit 301 Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training

1. 301 Assignment involves producing an information leaflet and a reflective account (you can submit this online)


Unit 303 Facilitate learning and development for individuals

2. 303 Assignment includes written work which can be submitted online and a 15-30 minute video of training which you can record and submit online or Skype with your assessor. Please arrange a suitable time with your assessor

Unit 306 Understanding the principles and practices of assessment

3. 306 Assignment - short answer questions and produce a powerpoint. You can submit this online

Potential progression routes include the Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (CTLLS) or the Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training (DTLLS).

We are looking into this. Using meeting software such as Zoom May help, however waiting for additional support from Awarding Body. In the meantime, two units could be completed and the written work for the third unit.

Yes, we will only be able to provide the LEVEL 3 AWARD IN EDUCATION AND TRAINING via HIGHFIELD Awarding Body. City and Guilds require the learners to be in UK. Highfield is also a fully Ofqual regulated qualification. They have adapted their criteria for the MICRO TEACH to allow recordings

You would be able to teach knowledge and skills relating to reflexology. You may also be able to provide accreditation via a related accreditation body but you need to get in touch with the accreditation body relating t reflexology. The units can be exactly the same. There is actually no difference to the assessments. Just -32 has ‘learning and development’ added to the title.

Under normal circumstances you would create a training session with a minimum of 2 learners. You would record your training session of at least 20 minutes and upload the recording for assessment. You have three modules to complete. Two are written and one includes recording a microteach for at least 20 mins. Once you have completed these to the standards you can gain your qualification. You can complete this qualification in 3-4 weeks. Maybe sooner if you complete the assignments sooner - hope this helps

It usually takes 3-4 months to complete. It will allow you to become a Qualified Trainer although the learning material is geared to support you to create training plans, delivery o training. You can then use the methods to support online content in a more structured way. Hope this helps

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered.
