This course is based on professional standards from The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in the UK. CILT (UK) is the UK territorial body of CILT, which has a presence in more than 30 countries across the world. This unit is designed to introduce learners to the concept of purchasing. The unit is made up of five elements that contain sufficient knowledge to give learners an overall view of the important role played by purchasing in the context of business. In each of these elements the emphasis is placed on the principles and techniques involved. The programme aims to equip learners with a solid foundation of knowledge on which they can build with experience.
