The ILM Level 4 Certificate in Leadership and Wellbeing is a nationally recognised leadership qualification and provides senior managers, aspiring and established, the opportunity to consolidate their leadership experience and care for the team's wellbeing whilst managing business objectives.

The Certificate explores how a manager can ensure that business needs are met as well as employee's mental and emotional health are cared for whilst juggling clients and projects.

Day 1

Managing Mental Health in the Workplace:
• Organisational approaches to mental health including policies and strategies for mental health support
• Objective assessment of reasonable adjustments and mechanisms to provide appropriate feedback to individuals
• Communication styles, confidentiality agreements and behavioural adjustment
• Promoting positive mental health

Day 2

Individual Mental Toughness:
• The importance and implications of mental toughness.
• Where mental toughness makes a difference – performance, wellbeing, positive behaviours, and aspiration
• Effective goals setting and developing an action plan
• Discuss the potential implementation of digital aspects to support workload management

Day 3

Developing People in the Workplace:
• Examining the expectations and requirements of people
• Diversity in the workplace
• Understanding the causes of conflict
• Managing career development
• Methods of ensuring fair and objective assessment/appraisal, and mechanisms to provide appropriate feedback to individuals
• Developing a culture of learning

Day 4

Solving Problems and Making Effective Decisions:
• How to solve more complex problems that managers may be faced with in the workplace
• How to make informed decisions
• Use of digital solutions to help solve problems

Assessment

To obtain the ILM qualification, you will need to complete one assignment following each module.

The assignment is a capture of your learnings from that day. We recommend a 2000 word count however this is flexible. Remember, you will have tutor and office support to guide you through your assessments.

Support

To ensure that all learning needs are met, you are required to complete a registration form whereby you can confidentially disclose any additional learning requirements you may have.

Equally, for those that haven't completed any type of formal qualification in a few years or ever, we will also provide you with

  • Support with understanding questions and structuring answers
  • Break down of questions to understand the nuance of them
  • Clear feedback on answers to know what went well and where you need to improve
