Delegates are encouraged to bring real-life issues with them to the course. You will have the opportunity to discuss how to resolve these issues in a confidential environment with the support of our HR specialist and other managers in similar situations.

Our human resources course takes place at the Centre's Central London training suite with easy access to tube and mainline rail stations.

Who is this course for?

This Human Resources: the essentials course is aimed at front-line managers, specifically those with little experience of dealing with HR or people challenges and who may be facing such issues in the future. It would also be helpful for more senior managers who need to see HR in the broader context of their organisation’s overall development, and who may well find themselves supporting their more junior colleagues.

The Centre works with people from all sectors including the public sector, voluntary sector, corporate sector and private sector.

Career path

By the end of this course you will have the knowledge and confidence to address common and tricky HR issues. You will be able to plan ahead on people-orientated issues, and take a pro-active stand in preventing issues arising in the first place. If and when these issues to arise, you will be able to respond confidently, quickly and effectively.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
