Course aims

The aims of this online End of Life Care training course are to improve the learner’s understanding of their role when it comes to meeting the needs of people with life-limiting illnesses.

Learning outcomes

After completing this online End of Life Care eLearning course, the learner should:

• Have improved confidence in providing end of life care to an individual with a life-limiting illness according to the principles of nursing practice,
• Have increased knowledge of how to recognise and respond to the changing needs of the person (and those close to them) at the end of their life,

What is End of Life Care?

End of life care is care given to people who are near the end of life and have stopped treatment from curing or controlling their disease. End-of-life care includes physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support for patients and their families.

End-of-life care may include palliative care, supportive care, and hospice care.
