Gain the skills and improve your self esteem with our support to take you to the next level! The AAT L1 Access Award in Bookkeeping is a short employability course designed to introduce learners to the world of finance and business.

Description

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

This course is designed to give students the introductory knowledge and confidence to take on higher level AAT qualifications and to progress in their lives and careers. The AAT Access Award in Bookkeeping offers students at Level 1 the opportunity to develop practical bookkeeping skills.

WHAT’S THE PROGRAMME ABOUT?

This qualification will particularly suit those students who have had minimal work experience or those who need some additional support in order to progress. This qualification may also interest those who are self-employed or working in small businesses who wish to do their own bookkeeping.

WHAT DOES THE COURSE COVER?

  • Buying and selling process and the common documents used
  • Recording transactions in the books of prime entry
  • Bookkeeping terminology
  • Practical bookkeeping skills

LEARNING OUTCOMES:

  • Understand the role of the bookkeeper
  • Understand financial transactions
  • Process customer and supplier transactions
  • Process receipts and payments

Students will gain the confidence to contribute effectively in the workplace and to move on to further study in bookkeeping.

ESSENTIAL COURSE DETAILS:
This will be offered as an online and face-to-face course that will take place over four weeks on Wednesdays and Thursdays - 9:30 - 14:00.

The exam will take place onsite at our Huntingdon Campus once the lockdown is over and we can safely return.

*There is a mandatory £40 charge for the AAT license for all learners whether funded or otherwise.

Who is this course for?

This qualification will particularly suit those students who have had minimal work experience or those who need some additional support in order to progress.

Requirements

Students need to be working at Level 1 in English and maths and should have the ambition to progress into further study, or work.

Career path

The skills developed in this qualification can lead to employment in junior supporting roles such as:

Learners may also progress onto Level 2 AAT qualification in Accounting or Bookkeeping.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
