This course provides awareness of the main risks associated with data protection and gives charities the reassurance that these risks have been minimised.

Every few months the course is changed so that refresher training can be carried out without boring staff.

Description

This course has been very well received by clients and:

  • lasts about 45 minutes + time answering quizzes
  • consists of five short videos
  • can be taken at any time
  • at the end of each video users must pass a brief test on that video
  • at the end of the last video there is a longer test, with a certificate available on successful completion
  • we make reports on completions available to administrators, for training records

Typically, our smaller clients use our standard training and larger clients use a version specifically adapted to them, to increase the relevance to staff.

This course will make sure your staff understand the risks associated with data protection and how to avoid them, giving practical examples based on our experience supporting charities.

This course is for all staff in a charity. In order to be compliant with the GDPR it is essential that all staff have sector related training and can demonstrate that this has been done.

No previous knowledge of data protection is required.

It is a requirement of the GDPR that all employees of a charity should have regular data protection training. This course delivers this, together with evidence to include in training records.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
