Criminal psychology revolves around finding out what goes on in the mind of criminals. The expert in this field is the criminal psychologist. The criminal psychologist or forensic psychologist is an important part of the criminal justice system. His work consists of both forensic and clinical responsibilities. His responsibilities include studying, observing and assessing the mind of at the criminal. This allows the criminal psychologist to find out the will, thoughts and intentions of the person who committed the crime. One also takes the stand in court and is asked to testify and provide evidences. Testimonies are backed-up by his written psychological reports. The criminal psychologist also has the responsibility of getting in touch with the criminal defendants. After interviewing the defendant, the criminal psychologist evaluates the defendant and decides whether one is fit to take the stand in court.

Criminal psychology is the study of everything that plays a part in criminal behaviour, the thoughts, emotions and motivations of criminals. It also examines the use of psychology in crime, its detection and prevention. Essentially, criminal psychology is concerned with what makes someone commit a crime and their reactions after the crime has occurred.This criminal psychology training course provides an overview of the psychology of criminal behaviour and the use of psychology in crime, its detection and prevention.
