Overview

Our new fast track Advanced Certificate in HR has been developed to get candidates through their qualification as quickly as possible without compromising on the level of quality support.

The programme provides total flexibility. We offer fortnightly start dates so you can join up whenever you like and from then on your work with our CIPD experts, using quality reference materials and with 24/7 access to our extensive Virtual Learning Environment (VLE).

Throughout your learning you will be supported by your own personal adviser. Four one-to-one meetings delivered via Skype or telephone will provide you with expert advice for each module. And, by joining our thriving fast track community you will gain access to a team of advisers with expertise in each of the HR areas and a regularly updated FAQ on the VLE.

Our practical approach to assessment enables you to use your own work experiences rather than solely relying on academic theory to develop new skills and knowledge. There are no exam modules in our fast track programme.

Using critical analysis, self-reflection and problem solving techniques, you will learn how to develop and contribute to creative and strategic HR solutions that drive organisational performance. You will also be able to develop your understanding of organisations and the external context within which HR operates.

Description

Candidates wanting to complete a fast track Advanced Certificate can choose any four modules from the list below. A total of 60 credits are required to complete the Advanced Certificate.

Core Modules (mandatory for Diploma only)

Developing skills for business leadership (7SBL) – develops a sense of self-awareness, uses theories/models to explore personal strengths and weaknesses as a manager and colleague.

Investigating a business issue from an HR perspective (7IBI) – empirical investigation, critical evaluation and analysis through a combination of academic research and business report writing

Optional Modules – Group A

Resourcing and talent management (7RTM) – the major features of employment markets, resourcing and talent management strategies, legal, ethical and professional practice

Performance management (7PFM) – the role of performance management in supporting strategic objectives and critical evaluation of the effectiveness of performance management

Reward management (7RWM) – plan, implement and evaluate reward policies and practices to support strategic goals and the strengths and limitation of different approaches

Managing employment relations (7MER) –evaluation of ER strategies and their outcomes and the importance of processes that support organisation performance and mitigate risk

Employment law (7ELW) –current and future developments in employment law, and the practical application of the key principles that underpin UK and EU employment law

The fast track Advanced Certificate offers ultimate flexibility – switch between your computer, tablet or smartphone and login whenever and wherever you choose to access quality learning materials.

Online yet still supported – the programme includes four one-to-one sessions with your personal adviser which will be used to discuss work based activities that demonstrate understanding, review your submissions, monitor progress and plan your next modules.

Here is a typical candidate journey although please note that you can complete the modules in any order and choose from 14 different titles to complement current issues in your workplace. The programme kicks off with two live information webinars which are also recorded if you want to catch them later, and then you are on your way to being CIPD qualified! If L&D is your passion, the fast track programme offers all the available HR Development modules.

Study method describes the format in which the course will be delivered. CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. If you work in certain professions or for certain companies, your employer may require you to complete a number of CPD hours or points, per year. You can find a range of CPD courses on Reed Courses, many of which can be completed online.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
