Drum Miking Techniques

During this excellent Drum Miking techniques course you’ll be taught by Les Camacho, a seasoned recording engineer, and Jonathan Gorman, an experienced studio drummer, who will demonstrate the best microphones and techniques for miking the drum kit in studio and how to best capture the dynamics of your music. Re-train your ear and learn how to get the best sound out of each of your drums, understand which kind of microphone is best for each different drum, how to test and fine tune the microphone placement using three different setups from entry-level microphones to high-end microphones.

Method of assessment

  • You will have one assignment. Pass mark is 65%.
