Course Content

Unit 1 – Enabling children to learn

  • This unit will encourage you to consider the diverse approaches to early years pedagogy that influence the holistic learning and development of babies and young children.

Unit 2 – Promoting health and well-being through physical activity and nutrition co-ordination (PANCo) in the early years

  • This unit will enable you to carefully consider the benefits of physical activity and the importance of diet for the health and well-being of babies, children and their families.

Unit 3 – Working with others to support children with additional needs, including Special Educational Needs and Disability

  • The effective inclusion of children in the early years setting will be explored in detail in this unit.

Unit 4 – Working with families and other professionals in early years settings

  • This unit will allow you to examine the statutory requirements for working in partnership with families and help you to explore how effective partnership working with other professionals can enhance the care and development provided for babies and young children.

Unit 5 – Implementing change in an early years setting incorporating a small scale research project

  • This unit will show you how to plan, implement and evaluate change in relation to an identified theme within your setting.

Assessments

This course is assessed through tutor marked assignments which must be sent to your tutor for marking. You will then be provided with feedback and a mark on your work from your tutor within 4 working days. After each assignment has been sent off and marked as complete you will have passed the course and will receive your certification.
