Individuals wishing to become an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician (ACMT) must complete one hardware and one software exam at a minimum: Apple Certified Macintosh Service Certification Exam, (9L0-012)

The hardware exam allows an individual to focus on how Apple Desktop and Portable computers function and how to troubleshoot them.

OS X Yosemite v10.10 Troubleshooting Exam, (9L0-066)

The Mac OS requirement is to ensure that technicians have the knowledge to quickly and efficiently differentiate between software and hardware issues. Who is this course for?

ACMT certification is intended for technicians employed by an Apple Store, Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Self Servicing Account (SSA), or for persons motivated to demonstrate their knowledge of technician-level service and support skills. For persons not employed by Apple directly or by an AASP or SSA, attaining ACMT certification verifies skills and knowledge that may be sought by a prospective employer, such as an Apple Reseller or a self-servicing entity like a school.

Requirements

No specific prior knowledge is required. However, general computer hardware theory knowledge and basic knowledge of Apple products and Operating System will come in useful.
