After each of the modules, you will sit a computer based exam. Don’t worry, if you’re not successful on the first try, you can re-sit the exam. However, you will need to pay a fee each time you re-sit an exam.

This course is comprehensive and covers the modules listed under the curriculum below.
Unit 1: Bookkeeping Transactions
This unit introduces you to the double-entry bookkeeping system and the associated documents and processes. You will gain an understanding of financial transactions within a bookkeeping system as well as the processing of customer transactions, supplier transactions and receipts and payments. You will also gain an understanding of processing transactions through the ledgers to the trial balance.
On completion of this unit, you will sit a computer-based test* at a local centre of your choice.
Unit 2: Bookkeeping Controls
This unit will allow you to understand payment methods, controls in a bookkeeping system and control accounts. This unit will also provide you with an understanding of using the journal and how to reconcile a bank statement with the cash book.

Method of Assessment:
This course is comprised of 2 computer-based examinations (the results of which you will receive immediately).
All AAT assessments are computer based, you can go through the course material qualification at your own pace, with our dedicated support every step of the way.
Assessments can be taken at centres local to you. Our dedicated bookings team will make all of the arrangements, so you can focus on your studies.
Please Note:
One sitting of each assessment is included in the course fee. Re-sits will be charged separately. There are resit restrictions for learners aged 16-19 living in the UK (excluding Scotland), contact us for further details.
Additional Payments:
Please note that the Computer Based Test (CBA) fees are payable separately to your exam centre. AAT membership fees are payable separately direct to the AAT.
Registration with the AAT / Registering for Exams
Please note that it is your responsibility to register as a student with the AAT and without this you will be unable to take your CBAs. Learners cannot be entered for an exam if the AAT membership fees have not been paid to the AAT.
AAT Admission Fees:
AAT Admission Fee £41 (if registering for the first time) – Pay directly to AAT
AAT Exam Fee:
Fees vary between approximately £60-£85 for each exam*Exam fees vary depending on the exam centre.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping.
