The Role:

Would suit someone who wishes to develop skills and experience and able to work flexible and short notice.

To provide person centred support for people with learning disabilities, complex needs and autism spectrum conditions.

Supporting clients to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, to participate in the community and to develop their abilities and meet personal goal and outcomes. To ensure safety at all times

Essential you have a good understanding of autism complex needs and challenging behaviour.

Working a varied shift pattern over 7 days including sleep in's

Tasks involved

  • Personal safety

  • Form positive social skills and relationships
  • Personal care and good hygiene
  • Daily living skills
  • Access other resources and facilities
  • Leisure activities
  • Join social clubs
  • Behaviour modification
  • Develop positive relationships with clients team and other health care professionals
  • Promote self esteem and good emotional health
  • Respect clients rights choice privacy and dignity
  • Support clients to make appropriate and informed choices
  • Key working tasks such as Care plans and risk assessments
  • Working alongside families and other professionals

Personal Qualities for the role

  • Experience of providing care or support to people with a learning disabilities, complex needs and autism
  • NVQ, Health and Social Care Diploma advantageous
  • A person centred approach to care and complex
  • Good understanding of communication techniques especially as some clients may be non verbal.
  • Sensitivity and a holistic approach
  • Team Player
  • Moving handling hoist
  • Medication administration advantageous
  • Self motivated Able to work independently or supervised when required
