HM Land Registry has an exciting opportunity for a SEODatabase Technical Team Lead and Senior DatabaseAdministrator to join the team based in Plymouth. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis and you will receive a highly competitive salary of £35,836 - £42,868 per annum(inclusive of IT allowance of £4,609).

It is a very exciting time for HM Land Registry (HMLR) as we embark on a major digital transformation programme. We need you to support us to develop our systems and achieve our ambition to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data. We are looking for a Database Technical Team Lead and Senior Database Administrator to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

The SEO Database Technical Team Lead and Senior Database Administrator role

As Database Technical Team Lead, you will provide technical leadership and line management for a specialist Infrastructure Centre Team. You will be required to develop the team members to meet the future needs of HMLR, whilst addressing succession planning and managing any single points of failure. You will drive exploitation of database capabilities, aim for greater operating efficiency and development, whilst maintaining data integrity and ensuring the availability and reliability of the databases are kept at the highest possible levels.

As Senior Database Administrator, you will develop and support HMLR's infrastructure across various hardware platforms. As a senior team member you will enforce good practice, ensuring full implementation of HMLR policies and processes. Driving exploitation of database capabilities, aiming for greater operating efficiency and development, whilst ensuring the availability and reliability of the mainframe platform are kept at the highest possible levels.

Skills and Experience needed of our SEO Database Technical Team Lead and Senior Database Administrator:

To be successful in the Database Technical Team Lead role, you will have:

- A qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or significant experience in an IT field

- Evidence of planning and managing significant technical change

- In depth knowledge and practical experience of Database technologies in an enterprise environment with specific working knowledge/awareness of at least one of following; Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle database, PostGres SQL

- Experience of successfully leading and managing an operational team

- Excellent technical information gathering, analysis and problem solving skills

- The ability to evaluate and propose practical alternatives where issues arise in the management of service delivery

- Strong team leadership demonstrated through building an effective team

- Up to date knowledge of developments in Information Technology and use experience to provide an effective service to colleagues and peers

To be successful in the Senior Database Administrator role, you will have:

- A qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or significant experience in an IT field

- Experience and evidence of planning and managing significant technical change

- In depth knowledge and practical experience of Database technologies in an enterprise environment with specific working knowledge/awareness of at least one of following areas; Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2, Oracle database, PostGres SQL

- Excellent technical information gathering, analysis and problem solving skills
