SUPPORT WORKER – CHARITY - FULL TIME (37.5 HOURS PER WEEK) – EATON FORD, ST NEOTS – UP TO £8.12 PER HOUR + BENEFITS

Our client is one of the largest and longest-established charities supporting people with learning disabilities.

They Are now recruiting for Support Workers to join their friendly team at their specialist residential home in Eaton Ford, St Neots, Cambridgeshire.

You will be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. They have a great team of staff who are passionate about their work and ensure that everyone has a personalised, quality support service.

THE ROLE

  • As a Support Worker at you will be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible. 
  • Support people with learning disabilities to the highest standard and in line with their support plan, cultural needs and wishes.
  • Support people with personal care if required, which may include toileting and bathing, in line with their support plan.
  • Support and encourage people to make choices and life decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act requirements.
  • Assist and encourage people to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual’s choice.
  • Encourage individuals to express their views on the internal and external services they receive.
  • Support people with their health needs as required, e.g. taking medication and attending doctor’s appointments.
  • Keep accurate and up to date records.
  • Support people with their finances, where necessary, and in line with organisation guidelines
  • Promote health, safety and well-being of the people we support.
  • Work positively with colleagues, families and external organisations and professionals.
  • Look for opportunities to use Personalised Technology to increase people’s independence.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Improve the support provided by discussing any new ideas.
  • Participate in learning and development opportunities as required.
  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate.
  • As our client provide 24/7 support you need to be able to work shifts, including weekends, some nights and Bank Holidays
  • You will also be required to accompany people we support on holidays and attend training courses and other activities.
  • You will be working from a Residential home in Eaton Ford, St Neots

ABOUT YOU

  • NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED AS FULL TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED
  • What matters most is your positive attitude to life and your desire to support people to live their life with as much independence, choice, dignity and control as possible.
  • YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS AN ENHANCED DBS CHECK (PAID FOR BY OUR CLIENT)
  • Naturally you must be reliable as people will be relying on you for their care and well being
  • Live within a commutable distance to Eaton Ford, St Neots home

WHATS ON OFFER?

  • £7.66-£8.12 per hour (dependent on successful completion of probation and Health and Social Care Diploma/NVQ Level 2)
