We are looking for confident, strong and calm individuals to work in our Durham Road Supported Living Service to provide person centred support to service users who have a learning disability; Autism and some Mental Health needs so that they can experience a wide range of opportunities for personal development. Below is a quote from a Service User who will soon reside at this Service:-
"Hi! My name is Dave and soon I am moving from hospital into my own flat in Consett. I am excited about this but am going to need help with some things. I will need help with furnishing my flat and budgeting to look after it. I am a very active person who likes working at the allotment, doing voluntary work at a local food bank and I also do volunteer dog walking. I need staff to support me to help me to continue to do these things when I move. Do you think you could help?"
Do you have the skills in positive communication and engagement and able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for this person whom we will support. Do you have the confidence to be able to work within a positive behaviour support framework, to accept responsibility and to develop as a skilled practitioner. You must be able to follow agreed guidelines and to work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos.
The posts are to offer waking night support.
