Supply Chain Manager - FMCG

My client, a successful and growing FMCG company is looking to recruit a Product Supply Chain Planning Manager for their business. This is a key role in the business and the successful candidate will be looking for a role that will offer an interesting and rewarding challenge. This role is based near to Bristol just off the motorway junction on the M5 and is easily commutable from as far as Exeter.

The Product Supply Chain Planning Manager will be responsible for managing and improving production planning of food products, acting as a key point of contact for my clients 3rd party partners and key customers. The role falls into two parts, firstly the managing of stock, what’s being made, when etc. and secondly the streamlining and improvement of current systems, helping forecasts, planning, analysis etc.. This is a hands on role and one where attention to detail is vitally important. Most of the time you will be office based working Monday to Friday either 8am-4pm or 9am-5pm although you will be expected from time to time to audit/visit clients and the external storage warehouses.

Overview of role:
·Establish a positive and professional working relationship with and act as the primary operational liaison for customers and 3rd party processors
·Act as a key liaison between commercial planning, forecasting, 3rd party processing and planning functions to ensure the right product is made for the right customer at the right time to meet the business objectives
·Support the delivery of total product sales objectives and product utilisation requirements
·Propose initiatives that improve operational and commercial control systems; identify ways to generate improved returns and efficiencies in processing and management of ingredients
·Support the process to identify, develop and implement new supply chain solutions for processing, storage and other requirements associated with product management
Specific responsibilities will include:
-Production planning
-Stock Management
-Import / Export administration
-KPI Reporting
-Technical Documentation - working with Technical to ensure all due diligence documentation is current.

Key skills required for the Supply Chain Manager / Planning Manager role:
-Must have experience in a supply chain / Planning role within a food, drink or pharmaceutical environment.
-Must have an inquisitive mind, question the norm and be a creative thinker
-Must be looking for a challenging role
-Continuous Improvement skills would be helpful

The successful candidate may have previously worked in Stock control, as a Demand planner. Supply chain, product planner role.
