Your new role
Your role is to administer and manage the company's database systems whilst ensuring it is maintained and that procedures are in place to recover their systems in case of failure. The role will mainly be made up of database administration with some application support analysis, infrastructure and network administration and other tasks as appropriate.
The role will include the following:
Database server performance management
Management of database security and access rights
Systems architecture design for the database environment
Database engine configuration and tuning
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in your application, you will need 5 or more years' experience with Microsoft SQL server and have IT operations experience with a strong understanding of database structure. You must also have an understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments alongside knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices. Ideally you will be able to display experience or qualifications of working in an ITIL environment.
Skills and qualifications required are:
SQL Server 2000 to 2017
Solid track record of Database Administration and Management
Progress database management / administration
Understanding of SCOM monitoring
Knowledge of SQL instances for SAP and SharePoint
