Senior Business Improvement Lead

Industry Leading Transportation Manufacturer requires a Senior Business Improvement Lead.

Senior Business Improvement Leads (in addition to BIL) attributes:

-Works alone and in teams to drives multiple projects at multiple locations in parallel with a number of Business Improvement leads. Is able to manage and give direction to a number of BILs

-Has the confidence to challenge paradigms and Senior Business Leaders / Managers to take the business in a desired strategic direction.

-Able to keep projects focused and on track. Can drive a Project Management Office (PMO) and step in when the Head of Business Improvement is unavailable.

-Able to report back to the Head of Business Improvement thorough diagnostics and clear departmental direction to show targeted Improvements with ownership.

-Can analytically explain, using data, the direction of a project, ownership and deliverables. Is able to build baselines and drive measured results. Is able to build presentations at senior and exec level to share Business Improvement team results and progress.

-Can orchestrate a number of strong characters and pull Kaizen events together, evoke cultural change and lead by example.

Business Improvement:

-Diagnose and understand business opportunities. Evaluate and implement plans to drive change and improvements with local area managers. Drive departmental managers to take ownership and transition improvement methodology across to embed continuous Improvement.

-Use business strategy to drive thought process in moving departments towards a common goal. Use 'Background’ and 'Current Condition’ analysis to drive departmental 'levers’ to push towards a 'target’. Assign 'actions and measures’ to perpetuate progress. Use 'as is’ to determine the 'future state’.

-Identify waste and create action plans to remove, evolve and improve on the opportunities found.

-Transform work place and management techniques so that continuous Improvement can be sustained and taken forward indefinitely.

-Look to the future and design process and flow to accommodate varying business demands.

-Supervise work execution, maintaining programme schedules and local plans. Provide resolution to problems and mitigate programme risk.

-Put in place standard tools, techniques and processes for continuous improvement across the company. Use learning to help build, develop and enhance the Business System over time.

-Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot manufacturing/ business and assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation

Skills Knowledge and Communication:

-Manage, coordinate and assist on the implementation of improvements. Present findings at all levels of the business to include both shop floor and board level team members.

-Review and develop an integrated method of reporting for Quality, Cost and Delivery (CQD) to include measures on Health, Safety and Environment (SH&E).

-Develop a business wide network and embrace communication channels externally that can benefit the company and its opportunities.

-Understand Lean in depth. Know of the Toyota Production System and Six Sigma and evolve these techniques to work in specific situations.

-Facilitate process improvement projects, training / workshops to drive cultural change - Kaizen

-Communicate, develop and conduct compliance audits, Return on Investment (ROI), program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent
