You will be joining a privately-owned engineering/manufacturing business that offer a wide range of bespoke solutions to food manufacturing and industrial businesses across the Midlands and Yorkshire regions such as Conveyor Systems, ranging from a single piece of equipment, through to full production lines. They pride themselves on their technical expertise, from concept development, design, manufacture, installation and servicing; all of which are completed by their experienced workforce. They have a long-term vision for the business and are continuing to grow, evidenced by the fact they have almost doubled their headcount over the last 2 years and are now looking to further strengthen their sales function.
Your new role
As Technical Sales Engineer, you will report into the Head of Sales and be responsible for enabling further growth through ongoing key account management and new business development. You will manage the full sales process from lead generation, qualification and customer site visits; with support from design you will produce technical recommendations/solutions. You will then build profitable quotations and close sales. Once an order has been confirmed you will then handover to the projects team to oversee the ongoing manufacture and installation/commissioning. The role will be split between the office and the field and on a daily basis you will be working on customer development, chasing enquiries / quotations and working on costing, pricing and proposal development.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to confidently identify client requirements and discuss the bespoke solutions available, you should be an experienced Sales Engineer who has a proven technical background including either engineering, design or fabrication. You should also possess strong interpersonal skills and enjoy building client relationships. You will be working alongside the Head of Sales and another Sales Engineer, both of whom are passionate about driving sales.
