Robotics Engineer - Head of QA

Are you a seasoned QA leader ready to help revolutionize autonomous navigation technology?

My client, a very well-funded startup and are looking for a dynamic Head of QA to lead groundbreaking advancements in robotics.

The job has come about as a result of a sustained period of growth and you’ll work directly with their Head of Product who will provide all the training and mentoring you need to help transition into the role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead innovative QA processes, from module testing to full-stack integration.

• View QA as part of the bigger picture and interact with customers to understand their feedback and think strategically about how action a plan.

• Automate testing through CI pipelines for efficiency and accuracy.

• Oversee testing on airborne and ground-based robotic platforms.

• Define robust test procedures, setting quality gates for flawless releases.

• Provide metrics on product performance and collaborate on UAT strategies.

• Mentor the testing team for professional growth.

About the company:

This disruptive startup have developed a genuine alternative to traditional SLAM-based navigation and are growing fast. They were oversubscribed at their last finding round which gave them several years of financial runway and are already revenue generating with big customers and large projects pipelined.

The Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years in QA leadership with expertise in the Autonomy, Robotics, SLAM or UXV industries.

• An understanding of how to set up comprehensive and repeatable test environments for robots to ensure they’re able to operate consistently with little downtime

• Proficient in Python, simulation tools like Gazebo, and CI processes.

• Hands-on approach with strategic leadership.

• Bonus: Experience in embedded systems, drones, C++ development, robotics, and ROS.
