Assistant Materials Planner
Holiday: 33 days, including bank holidays
The role of Assistant Material Planner plays a fundamental role in ensuring that production schedules are met by purchasing the necessary raw materials in a timely manner. The planner also ensures that materials are ordered in a cost effective way, taking into account the economies of order scale balanced with the cost of storage, while minimising wastage levels and obsolescence.
·Monitor inventory levels against forecast and place order to maintain adequate levels of parts and raw materials to manufacture the product along with adequate safety stocks.
·Work closely with the Production Planner and Material planners to determine the resources necessary to meet the production schedule and to ensure timely arrivals of raw material into the factory to avoid operational downtime.
·Communicate specific deliveries from Suppliers to ensure deliveries are made on time an in full within accepted tolerances.
·Feedback to Planning Manager any issues with raw material
·Liaise closely with Purchasing department to ensure most cost effective ordering of material is carried out and Supplier performance levels is maintained to the required standard.
·Assist the Materials Planning with liaising and report as required to enable phasing in/de-listing of new material to minimise obsolescence
Ability to work with large quantities of data
Excellent attention to details
Excellent communication skills
Analytical / numerate
Good IT skills
Experience in an FMCG supply
Knowledge of ERP systems.
