The Team

The Onscreen, On-demand and Marked Processing team comprises of 23 permanent staff The team are responsible for the result resolution and closedown of results for on-demand paper based and onscreen tests, and also Marked Script activities, including Item Level Mark Capture and servicing Awarding Meetings.

The role

The Processing Assistant role reports into a Team Leader within the team and is responsible for completing the processing activities to achieve the closedown of results for on-demand tests to set deadlines. The postholder will be expected to resolve specific issues affecting the issuing of learner outcomes, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer service. Regular contact with stakeholders and colleagues is key to the role. Supervision of temporary staff may be required as necessary. The postholder will be expected to work in other areas of the business when required.

A day in the life of (most appropriate for entry to mid-level roles)

Typical duties of the role are:

  • Monitoring result SLA’s and schedule adherence

  • Completing the processing activities to ensure candidate results are issued in accordance with SLA’s

  • Close down on specific issues affecting the issue of learner outcomes to ensure resolution

  • Communicating with internal/external customers

  • Participating in meetings

  • Appropriately escalating key issues where necessary

  • Induct, train and assess seasonal staff

  • Working in other areas of the business when required and to lead a team of seasonal staff in periods of peak processing

  • Attention to detail even with repetitive tasks

  • Flexibility of working patterns during peak periods

  • Adapting to the challenges created by the introduction of new qualifications or working methods

  • Adapting to mulitple/ different IT systems

  • Supporting various stakeholders from different teams

  • Working closely with and assisting collegues.

  • Simultaneously working on multiple high priority tasks

  • During peak times of activity there are restrictions on annual leave

Who we are looking for

The ideal postholder will be able to demonstrate the ability to organise their own workload and to work on multiple high priority tasks. Providing a customer focused service is key along with working collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues.

Proficient in the use of Microsoft office along with the ability to learn new software packages. Educated to GCSE level as a minimum the postholder should have excellent communication skills.
