This flexible 3 day a week Part Time Finance and Operations Manager position will hold all finance responsibility for this exciting IT & Technology start up business. They are looking for someone happy to muck and manage the wider office along with take the financial of the business away from the current external accountant

A personable and highly intellectual group of directors they are in need of an experienced Part Time Finance and Operations Manager in their central Cambridge offices. They are a flexible employer and are happy to work around the right individual who can help them continue to grow the organisation

Description

Part Time Finance and Operations Manager duties and responsibilities

  • Interaction with the Companies accountant with the view of taking full finance responsibility for the SME
  • Provide an initial point of contact for the companies, both internally and externally
  • Manage phone calls, post, travel bookings, visitors / hospitality for the two directors
  • Arrange companies meetings / events
  • Implement and maintain office administration systems
  • Process purchase orders and invoices; file and keep records; co-ordinate expense claims and credit-card reconciliation
  • Initiate and authorise payments via online banking facilities
  • Maintain the Companies financial records
  • Monitor cash balances and keep schedule of cash flow
  • Interact with Pension scheme providers
  • Preparation of the quarterly VAT returns
  • Maintain Fixed Asset registers

Profile

Required experience and characteristics of this Part Time Finance and Operations Manager;

  • Relevant experience in a office management and accounting/finance manager
  • Ability to work independently and manage a wide variety of tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with accounting software
  • Familiarity with financial side of UK grants would be beneficial as the company has a mix of funding from grants and private investors
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel
