Logistics & Operations Coordinator

A small but hugely successful international traders based in NW London, are looking for an experienced Operations & Logistics Coordinator with FMCG, finished goods, or bulk chemical trade operations experience to join their team.

The role will assist the Operations Manager to set up key operational functions to enable further organic growth, whilst also assisting the logistic team in the bulk trade business.


START: Urgently, ASAP

SALARY: £30-34K

TYPE: Permanent, full time


  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in supply chain, operations & logistics in FMCG business for finished goods and/or bulk chemical goods
  • At least 2+ years of the above experience must be in the UK
  • Experience in complex export operations and setting up reporting and or systems
  • Experience in procurement & supply chain operations
  • Degree in supply chain, logistics or similar operations
  • An energetic self-starter, able to work on initiative and within a team.
  • Excellent time and prioritisation skills
  • Confidence in dealing with clients (internal & external) and service providers when problems arise in multiple global regions
  • Strong awareness of ethics and confidentiality requirements
  • Ability to help within the team where required to "get the job done" and to use initiative as well as working towards improving the overall operations function


  • Overseeing operations from freight rate sourcing to final delivery for our the multiple internal divisions; ranging from finished goods to bulk (IBCs, ISOs, drums)
  • Commanding and issuing loading instructions from supplier to customer for new business
  • Advising customers of shipping details and making them aware of any issues
  • Dealing with matters on loading or unloading with terminal, transporter and customer
  • Preparing export documentation, and documentation to present under Letter of Credits
  • Liaising weekly with the Operations Manager and senior stakeholders on progress and issues on ongoing operations
  • Maintaining up-to-date files on own operations
  • Supporting the Operations Manager with procurement of materials and operational set up
  • Supporting the sales team on soft commercial issues and trading matters
  • Preparing logistics/operations information
  • Working with the operations team to identify key areas to develop the in house ERP system
  • Working on developing efficiency changes to purchasing and sales process system between company functions
  • Maintain hard and soft operations data files
  • Put in place central data base of all the product specification
