This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mining professional to join our passionate and knowledgeable team as the Mine Manager. This exciting role will see you managing a team of mining professionals to exercise control of the mining operations and to ensure delivery of Mine Performance KPIs in; Safety, Environment, Customer Service, Quality, Production and Productivity, Cost Control and People Development.
The mine at Robertsbridge, East Sussex is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and not far from the South coast, a very picturesque part of the country. We currently have 25 employees onsite, with production of about 100,000 tons per year, with plans to increase to 200,000 in 2019. We have started to implement a major capex expansion to access more than 20 years of new reserves to supply the factory at Robertsbridge with a significant part of its gypsum supply. At the mine, we use drill and blast mining methods to win the mineral.
What will I be doing in the role
In the role as Mine Manager you will;
- Manage and understand the importance of major mining hazards and ensure this is always a priority
- Manage all operations of the mine, including; the overall function, people development, reduce costs and maintain quality
- Ensure the mine is planned correctly and that the right requirements are in place and maintained correctly
- Manage a team of around 5 direct reports ensure they are developed and engaged
