Market Insight Manager

Based in Northampton and reporting to the Senior Insight Manager, you will manage the collation and communication of competitor promotional activity, product information and insight into Howdens customers to validate new product introductions and market size / share. 

You will interpret data collated by the team and provide executive summaries for meetings, regional boards and internal events. 

Responsibilities in brief

  • To manage the research, collation and indexing of competitor activity
  • To ensure top line written presentations that evaluate competitor activity offer insight and direction to the team where appropriate
  • To manage and develop a key competitor product database. Key information should cover:
    • Kitchens offered
    • Price benchmarking
    • Detailed product specification & samples where appropriate
    • Other categories as appropriate / promotional activity
  • To manage and build a relationship with research agencies, to gather insight to understand market size / share
  • To manage the market report indexing ensuring they are kept up to date and the business has relevant reports circulated and summarised to them
  • To manage the tracking of Howdens and competitors brand awareness ensuring clear summaries are circulated to the business
  • To interpret market research reports that are relevant to the marketing team and current business strategy and summarise
  • To manage FeedbackLink and the research collated at Howdens events
  • To review and offer feedback on requests from depots and the regional teams received at events

Skills & experience

  • Must be graduate or equivalent educated
  • Previous experience working in marketing or research environment
  • Ability to prioritise daily workload
  • Excellent organisational skills and enjoy multi-tasking with a ‘hands-on’ and flexible attitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Must be highly self-motivated, adaptable and flexible
