Ignata Finance are exclusively recruiting a 6 month (minimum) maternity cover Management Accountant for our client based in West Sussex. You would be joining a very strong team with plenty of support, investment and time to hand-over with the current post-holder.
Responsible for delivering the internal financial reporting requirements, and actively support the local operational management teams with effective financial analysis and guidance to ensure financial performance is maximised.
Work as a key business partner to the operations management leaders.
Work pro-actively with other members of the finance team and specifically with the financial accounts team to ensure that all statutory requirements are met within the stipulated deadlines.
Responsible for the month end reporting requirements;
o Month end journals, allocations, recharges, accruals etc
o Payroll journals and related balance sheet account reconciliations
o Accruals, provisions and related balance sheet reconciliations
o Revenue analysis and related activities
o Cost centre analysis and related activities
o Review of the trial balance: profit and loss account sections, payroll, accruals and provisions
o Assist in the completion of internal compliance check lists and any relevant actions
o Attend operations management meetings and present financial information
o Provide other reports and analysis as required by management
Review the balance sheet accounts in the monthly trial balance reports and take any appropriate actions as a result of the review.
Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliation are being completed on a monthly basis
Review all monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure any corrective actions, journals etc are implemented
Responsible for the annual and long-term financial forecasts/budgets (P&L account, balance sheet etc)
Responsible for short term financial forecasts, both P&L and non-cash working capital (monthly with weekly highlights of changes)
Prepare cashflow forecasts.
Support business development projects
Support all external requirements (statutory audits, tax, etc) to ensure all information deliverables are met
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Qualified accountant ideally but Part-Qualified and QBE will be considered, with a focus on management reporting (eg CIMA)
Proven management accounting skills and experience
Knowledge of different costing principles (contribution, gross margin, allocation methods advantages/disadvantages, asset/labour utilization, variance analysis and methods)
Knowledge of financial analysis for capex project work.
