IT Project Manager

Achilles Information is looking to recruit an IT Project Manager for a 6 month contract based in their Milton Park office.

The core duties of this role will include:

  • Managing the end to end delivery of the IT project from initial Inception through Design (Business Requirements), Develop, Deploy/Test and Delivery/Warranty phases and liaising with all relevant stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
  • Development and management of the IT Project Plan and integration to the wider business project and IT programme where relevant
  • Manage any changes to the scope, time or quality of the project through the relevant Change Control procedures
  • Progress reporting of the status of the project within the defined governance structure (both IT and business transformation) - both written and in verbal format to internal stakeholders
  • Ensure all projects are delivered to the agreed processes and procedures, operating within the Agile development framework for most development projects
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members, and influence them to take proactive action and accountability for their assigned work
  • Play an effective role within the IT Programme team, utilising knowledge and experience to support the team’s delivery requirements

Applicants will need to have demonstrable experience of:

  • A very strong background in delivering large IT development projects within an Agile environment
  • Proven experience of delivering a complex Software Development, IT and Change projects
  • Significant knowledge of the IT project lifecycle
  • Experience of Agile software development projects and delivery methodologies
  • A sound understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile processes
  • Experience of leading the implementation of new methodologies and processes
  • Experience of bringing significant projects to completion through a politically sensitive approach
  • Experience of working with remote multidisciplinary teams
