Inventory Control Manager

Following growth our client has a new role of Inventory Control (IC) Manager to establish a focused IC team. This role is going to evolve over time and as a 'Director of Area’ you will play a big part in determining what it will look like. You will develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly action plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy and service to support us in delivering a world class operation.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1 Accountable to create, establish and evolve the IC Manager’s role within Operations, including the development and implementation of the Quarterly Cycle Count process.

2 Measurement of quality & inventory transaction accuracy while providing feedback to fulfilment operations; proactively educate the team on issues that arise which could have been solved at source.

3 Production and execution of daily, weekly & monthly plans that increase quality, inventory accuracy and service to the business; reporting regular updates on successes and challenges as required.

4 Line management of the IC team, which includes being responsible for performance reviews, coaching and development; lead a high performing team and support succession plans.

5 Support the wider management team in creating a great place to work, by facilitating effective communication, promoting H&S best practice, helping develop a culture of continuous improvement, plus contribute to and support future plans as they evolve and grow the business.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

1 Experience with building or improving inventory management systems & processes is essential, plus knowledge of order management & warehouse management systems & processes. Ability to show inventory & quality improvement in a continually changing environment.

2 Strong organisational skills, plus good problem solving & decision-making ability; with a flexible approach to meeting business needs, including the ability to work evenings & weekends when required, in order to support the IC role & the wider business.

3 Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with strong working knowledge of MS Office packages & experience in using Warehouse Management Systems; ideally with Manhattan or Island Pacific (IP)

4 Experienced people manager & leader, with a proven ability to effectively use a variety of people management tools & processes to engage & motivate the team, in order to achieve operational goals.

5 Skilled at building productive & effective relationships with key internal & external stakeholders.
