Intervention Teacher

Posted 6 April by PK Education Easy Apply

A warm and welcoming school in South Tyneside has a requirement for an Intervention Teacher.

Your role will be to work within a classroom setting to help students who are some way behind the rest of their class in their studies, both on a one to one and group basis. You will rotate in and out of classrooms supporting those pupils who require additional support and hold responsibility for developing strategies to help your students’ progress in both literacy and numeracy.

As well as teaching children in a mainstream environment, it will be advantageous if you have SATs and intervention experience and/or a genuine interest and desire to support children who have special educational needs, including HI (Hearing impairment), ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health difficulties).

This is a good school with outstanding features where pupils’ behaviour is good, and children enjoy coming to school. Children have good attitudes to learning and thrive and develop as confident learners. They are well above average in reading, writing and maths.

You will join a strong team of staff where pupils feel safe and secure, standards are continuing to rise, and pupils are fully engaged in learning and activities.
