Market-leading and well-established, our client is one of the leading names in the foreign exchange world. Headquartered in central London with several offices around the world, their private client desk is a key part of the business. They’re now looking to add an impressive, experienced business development specialist to their London team.
Many of our client’s private clients are sourced via 3rd party introductions and your role will focus on finding new partners across the world. Each business partner will have clients who are moving money around the globe: examples include international property developers who sell homes in Spain to British buyers; and private health providers in Poland who offer dental services to international clients. Any company with clients who have foreign exchange needs is a potential referring partner for you to approach.
Whilst you will take care of some existing accounts, your main focus will be sourcing, calling and meeting potential new accounts to get them on board. This is a smart, consultative sell to set up professional partnerships though you’ll also need to have the skills and the mindset to approach people cold.
Working closely with the Head of Sales, you’ll play a part in the department’s strategic plans and you’ll be expected to carry out your own plans unsupervised, reporting back as and when needed.
With an international client base, there will be some travel needed.

Knowledge: Experience of selling at a senior level; proven track record in financial world, preferably foreign exchange; a good understanding of financial markets, products and services; insight into relevant legislation and regulation.

Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; a strong negotiator; able to solve problems quickly; good time-management skills; comfortable managing sales pipeline via CRM systems; consultative sales style over the phone and face-to-face; good presenter / public speaker.
Habits: Well-organised; diligent enough to keep records through sales process; target-oriented; proactive in new business activity.
The basic salary for this role is £40-50,000pa depending on experience. Commission is also paid on revenue generated; if you hit targets you’d make £10,000 commission in year one and £20,000 in year two.
