POSITION: Insurance Consultant
SALARY: £16,000 per annum plus commission 22K OTE
LOCATION: Chester
HOURS: 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday to Friday

This is an exciting opportunity working for an award-winning company who a looking for an experienced Insurance Consultant to generate business by arranging quotations in a timely, technically accurate and cost effective manner.

The position will consist of:

  • Making and receiving sales telephone calls
  • Preparing sales lead data
  • Emailing prospective clients
  • Providing quotations to clients
  • Inputting quotations into platforms and portals
  • Reviewing previous data to identify potential leads
  • Obtaining credit/debit card and direct debit details required to process payments
  • Issuing policy documentation to customers
  • Handling queries
  • Managing own varied work load and diary
  • Keeping notes and filing up to date
  • Identifying new accounts that may need visits from the Face to Face BDM
  • Recording sales gained

General Responsibilities:

  • Working with the management team to develop the insurance sales process and be flexible to working hours required for the success of the role
  • Keeping up to date with competitors in order to successfully sell the product
  • Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations
  • Recording and referring any complaints received in line with the company procedure
  • Developing and maintaining positive ongoing relationships with the Company’s internal and external customers
  • Conducting business in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Undertaking any other task as reasonably required by the Company

Skills and Experience required to apply:

  • Previous experience of telephone sales
  • Insurance experience preferable but not essential as full training will be provided
  • Excellent customer service skills, incorporating confident and pleasant phone manner
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise own workload effectively and efficiently
  • Target driven
  • Good computer skills
  • Highly self-motivated, to work both individually and as part of a team
  • Pro-active thinker, able to solve problems independently as they arise
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility around working hours
