Job Title: In house Legal Advisor
Location: Warwick
Hours: Full Time, Permanent (Monday to Friday usually 7:30am - 4:30pm with some flex)
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000pa DOE
+ Company Car or Car Allowance

Our client is an outsourcing consultancy business that provides a range of services across the white-collar remit to various clients within diverse industry sectors. The purpose of this role is to support the company in providing a comprehensive and high quality in-house legal service, covering a broad range of legal issues helping the businesses to ensure all activities are in line with legal requirements and that risks are mitigated appropriately. This is an autonomous role which will suit a confident professional from a legal background who is looking to support a business from a legal perspective. Main responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Heads of Departments to insure smooth running of contractual procedures across the business about payment and variations
  • Providing a comprehensive legal service to the business; assisting in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting commercial contracts, clearing amendments to terms, and assisting in providing guidance on compliance issues
  • Assist the business in understanding and complying with commercial legal agreements and applicable legislation
  • Performing research
  • Responsible for hard copy and electronic archiving
  • Producing and maintaining a contracts data
  • Producing contract checklist and putting systems in place
  • Help manage the groups' insurance portfolio
  • Organising the obtaining of the executed versions of documents needed for corporate governance and company secretarial duties
  • Organise reports and provide information for different projects, as per corporate needs
  • Supporting business teams negotiating and drafting supply-chain contracts
  • Advising on the protection of intellectual property rights and protection of confidential information and data protection compliance
  • Providing advice across the business on compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Keeping precedents and policies reviewed and up to date
  • Responsible for GDPR within the company

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Law graduate (or completed GDL)
  • You will be a legal executive with previous experience of working in a legal practice either in a law firm or in an in-house legal function
  • You will have knowledge of data protection, intellectual property, IT law and/or employment law
  • Good computer literacy skills and a good working knowledge of windows-based applications is essential
  • Responsive to a changeable and deadline driven environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is crucial
  • Good commercial and business awareness
  • Good spoken and written communication skills
  • You will demonstrate integrity and work in a professional manner
  • You will demonstrate excellent time keeping and accountability skills
