JOB - HSE Manager

LOCATION - Hampshire

TERM - Permanent

RATE/SALARY - £70,000 -80,000 per annum plus benefits package

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a HSE Manager within a leading company based in Hampshire. My client is within the Oil & Gas industry.

The HSE Manager is required to have the following;

  • Practical safety skills relating to Oil & Gas facilities
  • Ability to understand current and proposed UK & European legislation and regulations
  • Knowledge of Development & Maintenance of COMAH Safety Reports and/or Offshore Safety Cases is a prerequisite
  • Professional qualification in Process, Operations, Chemical or Engineering Degree level
  • Chartered membership of an approved professional institution, preferably within the safety sector is desirable
  • Good understanding of the engineering involved in oil production and gas storage operations
  • Experienced in the integration of occupational, behavioural and process safety management
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Health and Safety management roles

The HSE Manager role will involve:

  • Managing of all aspects of Process Safety Engineering & Integrity assurance of the Gas Storage and Oil production facility in order to ensure that process hazards are correctly identified and controlled in order to minimise the risk of harm or damage to personnel, public, environment and the asset
  • Managing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting HSE performance against HSE Key Performance indicators
  • Liaising with all Management and staff to ensure compliance with pertinent health, safety and environmental legislation and other associated HSEMS requirements
  • Improving and progressing of the company's current Process Integrity assurance from Design through Operations to raise the level of process safety and control of major accidents and hazards within the operation of the Gas storage and Oil production business
  • Aiming to achieve the best and most appropriate level of operational excellence for the business
  • Managing of all Safety Assessments, Compliance, Auditing, Safety Review and HAZOP/HAZID processes
  • Developing & administering company Environmental, Health and Safety, and COMAH Safety Reports, including the Health, Safety and Environmental management
  • Auditing of contractors, to ensure legal, regulatory and statutory compliance is adhered to and maintained
  • Co-ordinating key investigations and prepare incident reports on all accidents, incidents, near misses and equipment failures that have the potential to result in damage to personnel, public, plant or the environment
  • Liaising with and where necessary submitting all appropriate reports to the Managing Director and appropriate regulatory, statutory or legislative authorities, with the aim being to raise the level of safety awareness and continuous improvement and development
