We have an amazing opportunity for someone to lead our Key accounts team. This leadership role requires a customer-centric, dynamic and highly entrepreneurial individual to take responsibility for leading a team whose role is to nurture and grow key accounts for phs Direct. The role is a leadership role with a very high profile in the business as they will be responsible for manging the key accounts team and the key accounts within phs Direct.

You will have ownership of the whole strategy for customer retention, from setting requirements for marketing activities (to be carried out via the marketing team), manging your own team of key accounts managers.

It is a fantastic job for the right candidate and potentially the perfect platform for further advancement within the phs Group.

You’ll have an exceptional track record in B2B account management and through knowing how to get the most out of a sales team and your ability to devise and implement a retention and growth strategy. You will be hard working, ambitious, entrepreneurial and hungry to grow business for the benefit of the company and yourself.

  • Deliver a winning 12-month value, growth and retention strategy for the company.

  • Managing a key account team and managing them to produce best in class account management and how the team deliver value to our key customers.

  • Leading the team with your consultative approach - identifying the client’s needs and expertly showing them how to satisfy them.

  • Creating proposals and managing the pitch and negotiating process of renewals

  • Managing an Overview report that streamlines lead costs and ensures sales channels are profitable.

  • Superb presentation skills, an ability to interact confidently to director level at any company size.

  • Ensuring that all activity is recorded in Sales Force and account management reports are sent to the Managing Director.

  • Work within the companies’ sector strengths and develop a account plan for all key accounts

  • Assist with the building of the value propositions to each sector including having the right product basket per sector

Providing accurate forecasts and insight behind results

  • Having a clear understanding of what drives results and owning the models which allow you to provide accurate forecasts of sales and margin performance for the key accounts team

  • Able to take reports and information for your part of the business and drive insight to improve decision making within the business

Essential Experience and Capabilities

  • At least 2 years’ experience in managing, training and motivating a team.

  • Good excel skills along with a natural ability with numbers, you’ll need to be responsible for the financial efficiency of the sales function.

  • Proficiency with Salesforce, you must be organised with good project management skills.

  • Impeccable communication skills, ability to present to key decision makers.

  • Hardworking, energetic and enthusiastic approach to sales.

  • Driven, self-starter with a hunger to succeed and win.

  • Knowledge and contacts within the consumables sector is essential

  • Ability to travel within the UK

Candidates can live anywhere as it is a national role however will need to travel at least once a week to our office in Tamworth.
