Now recruiting for a Head of Commercial - You will be directly accountable for the commercial performance, with responsibility for the Online, Product and Marketing teams. The role will also be responsible for the day to day trading performance of the business, including identifying opportunities and risks across all channels and implementing actions to optimize acquisition and conversion.
As part of the management team, this is a senior role with direct impact across various other business functions. As such the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate good leadership capabilities, as well as excellent communication and influencing skills.
*Performance and development of the Online and Product/Marketing teams
*Directly contribute to target setting across all channels for both commercial and service metrics
*Identify, communicate and respond to trading opportunities/risks at a short, mid and long term level
*Track and measure performance against these metrics including P&L, acquisition, conversion, fulfilment and efficiency
*With Product & Marketing Manager, define marketing plan each year, ensuring the delivery of acquisition targets by channel at the optimum ROI
*With the Online Manager, optimise web performance, including continuous website improvement, along with delivery of online acquisition and conversion targets
*Monitor both short and long term trading, constantly evaluating risks and opportunities.
*Take full ownership of pricing analysis tool, including providing weekly business updates and quickly responding to risks and opportunities
*Monitor performance against supplier over-ride targets to maximise returns
*Work closely with the loading and purchasing team to maintain loading forecast and prioritise inventory on a daily basis
*Help drive growth through new product areas, e.g. weddings, new destinations, ancillary sales, etc.
*Assist in driving operational efficiency across business
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
*Proven experience of working within a Commercial environment within the Travel Industry.
*Successfully managed a team, ideally including multiple layers
*Able to demonstrate strategic thinking, ideally with team management experience.
*Excellent commercial acumen, with experience of working in a fast moving commercial environment
*Proven expertise in acquisition and marketing, including working closely with key external partners
*An understanding of the online environment, including digital marketing and iterative platform optimization
*Someone who thrives in a busy 'sales and service' environment and self-motivated to achieve performance targets and takes responsibility for their own results.
*Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel.
The role will initially be offered to the successful candidate on a 12 month contract basis.
