Economist - Corporate Finance - London/Brussels - £45-60,000

Our client is a leading economics consultancy, advising companies, policymakers, regulators and lawyers on economic issues relating to competition, finance and regulation. With offices across Europe, including London, Brussels and Berlin, there is now an exciting opportunity to join their pioneering corporate finance team to focus on advising clients on corporate finance matters within their state aid team.

Their market leading state aid team is a well-established large practice that has worked on an extensive number of state aid cases for over a decade across a wide range of sectors, including transport, energy, financial services, telecoms and post, health, real estate and sports infrastructure.

They are currently looking for an economist with strong corporate finance skills and at least three years’ corporate finance experience within a consultancy, although those coming from government, regulators or competition authorities will also be considered. The successful candidate will have at least an undergraduate degree in economics, coupled with a postgraduate degree in economics or finance, and a passion for providing high-level financial and economic analysis. This includes (but is not limited to) profitability analysis, cost of capital assessments, valuation analysis, and credit rating analysis.

You will manage small and medium-sized projects or parts of larger projects, be involved in business development activities, maintain client relationships, and provide guidance and training to junior staff. Depending on your performance, there is the opportunity to progress quickly to a Senior Consultant.
