Collections Manager

Kind Consultancy is working with a well established Financial Services organisation who are seeking a Collections Manager to join their Leicestershire offices.

The Collections Manager will report to the Senior Collections Manager and will proactively manage non-performing loans with the end goal of minimising losses, with key responsibilities including:

  • Managing daily loans arrears through the Collection team
  • Supporting and advising borrowers on the best strategies to return their loans to performing status
  • Developing and implementing strategies for non-performing loans, involving but not limited to appointing reporting accountants, debt restructuring, further borrowing and refinancing with alternative products or lenders
  • Assessing the credibility of recovery plans and borrowers' ability to implement them, monitoring loan performance against recovery plans and advising borrowers on needed amendments as required
  • Quickly identifying borrowers without a credible recovery strategy and moving those accounts to resolution (receivership, call up of guarantees etc)
  • Assessing, analysing and subsequently making recommendations to the Senior Collections Manager on appropriate actions on non-performing loans to aid recovery and mitigate losses
  • Liaising with Solicitors, Insolvency Practitioners and/or Receivers to recover debt
  • Collaborating with Internal and External Receivers, Valuers and Property Managers
  • Coaching and developing other Collections team members in account rehabilitation and arrears management techniques
  • Acting as the organisation's key point of contact for non-performing portfolio management related matters, including regulatory developments

Our ideal candidate for the Collections Manager opportunity:

  • Has a proven record of success in Commercial Banking relationship management, including experience of managing distressed debt and a working knowledge of recovery strategies
  • Is an excellent communicator with well-developed negotiation skills
  • Is highly organised and able to manage multiple simultaneous tasks
  • Has a high level of financial and commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Holds a degree in a management discipline and/or a relevant professional qualification
  • Has leadership experience
