Claims Adjuster - Accident & Health background

A major City based Lloyds Underwriters seeks a Claims Adjuster with 3-5 years related experience working knowledge of the Lloyd's Market, 3-5 years hands on experience dealing with Casualty/Accident and Health claims.

Handling and settlement of claims including the analysis of policies to determine nature and extent of coverage, key jurisdictions being Canada, Australia, Latin America and Italy. This will include litigation management relating to both policy coverage disputes as well as general defence work. Classes include General Liability, Professional Liability, Management Liability and Legal Expenses.

Where necessary instructing and supervising loss adjusters and lawyers and other experts in various jurisdictions, liaising with them throughout the course of claims to ensure accurate reserves at the earliest possible juncture and the best possible outcomes are achieved for all covered claims;

Effectively communicating with management, underwriting, and actuarial on a regular basis to ensure they are kept aware of any key claims trends/issues so that appropriate steps can be taken to address any concerns

Building professional working relationships with intermediaries and agents such as brokers, Coverholders and TPA's

Arranging claims/compliance audits of Third Party Administrators (TPA's) to ensure best practice claims handling and following up on audit findings/recommendations that require further action to be taken.

Reviewing and releasing ECF entries and sequences and keeping abreast of developments

Where necessary circulating direct reports to the market and as leader conducting market meetings

Meeting with co-insurers in the London market and working with them to attempt to drive best practice including attendance on working groups, LMA committees
