Chef Manager- Southend on Sea- £20k

Servest are currently looking for a Chef Manager to be based in a staff restaurant, within a business and industry site in Southend. As Chef Manager you will be in charge of the smooth running of the unit, daily cooking, serving customers and cash handling- This is a one person catering site. You will be responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen and facilities to include all aspects of Health and Safety. The unit offers a breakfast and lunchtime service and a selection of home bakes daily. You will need to be happy to get stuck in and work over all aspects of the unit as this is lone working role.

Day to day the role involves you cooking and managing the site. You will also be involved in costing's and finances, audits, ordering and client meetings. We are looking for manager who can plan, organise and monitor the controls on food quality, presentation and service. You will be used to using fresh ingredient to create dishes and the role will also involve you preparing menus and developing recipes.

As the Chef Manager you will report into the Group Operations/ Area Manager. We are looking for candidates with a background of Chef Management within a Business and Industry site- ideally from a unit that offers quality home baked food with a retail twist. The role is predominantly Monday - Friday 7am- 3.30 pm however some flexibility may be needed.

As Chef Manager you will need to have the following:

  • A background as a Chef Manager / Head Chef within Business and Industry Catering unit
  • Quality cooking standards using fresh seasonal ingredients whilst being conscious of the set budgets
  • The ability to lead by example
  • A strong craft background (706 1 & 2 or equivalent needed) with Superb customer service skills
  • Financial awareness with the ability to manage budgetary lines
  • Cash handling experience would be advantageous

We are offering a competitive salary up to £20k, 28 days holiday including bank holidays, uniform is provided, Auto enrolment pension, company training and the chance of internal progression. As the Manager you will be required to work around 40 hours per week predominately Monday to Friday 7am-3.30pm but you will also need to be flexible for business needs?.
