The Surgical Division is seeking a candidate who is
interested in developing their career in an education role.
 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and
enthusiastic practitioner to assist in the delivery of training and education
for all levels of staff, with a particular interest in supporting the
development of the Perioperative environment.
 

Currently there is a vacancy of a Practice Educator at
Band 6. This post will be based in the Surgical Division Practice Education team,
but will also have close links to Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen University
the North of Scotland Colleges and NHS Education for Scotland.
 

You should have excellent care values and a strong
sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour.  Enthusiasm to work, learn and develop self
and colleagues within the exciting and challenging high pressure environment
which is Surgical Nursing. You will be dynamic and forward thinking in your
approach and focused on providing safe, efficient and person centred care
You should have extensive perioperative experience
as a Band 5 or above, and be educated to Degree level or equivalent. Whilst a teaching qualification would be desirable it is
not required initially. A proven interest in training, education and
professional development for all staff would be essential and further
development would be supported within the role.
 

The Surgical division covers the following
specialties:

General Surgery: - elective and emergency.

Vascular surgery

Ophthalmology: - inpatient and outpatient

Urology: - inpatient and short stay

Orthopaedics: - elective and trauma
Plastic surgery

Medical and Surgical High dependency units,

Intensive Care Unit
Operating theatres: - elective and emergency

Short Stay Surgical.

The Major Trauma Centre

Pre-assessment and Day of Surgery Admission unit
