Accounts Assistant / Cashier

Negotiable

Monday to Friday 08.45 – 17.00

Due to our continued success as one of the country’s leading suppliers of heavy commercial vehicles we have an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant / Cashier.

Based at our Milton Keynes Head Office you will be primarily responsible for cash posting, bank reconciliations and administration within the cashiering function.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation of Company’s bank accounts
  • Daily cash posting for all Credit Card, BACS and Cheques from customer's onto their accounts
  • Daily update to the Sales Administration Department in order to release new and used vehicles
  • Twice monthly direct debit collection from Scania Independent Dealers
  • Monthly direct debit collection from customers
  • Daily banking preparation and electronic filing
  • Exchange Rate difference Nominal Ledger journals
  • Opening and sorting the post

Key requirements for the role:

  • Computer literate including Outlook and good Excel skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • An ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Experience of working in an office environment
  • Numerate and a good eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal skill for communication with all levels of staff within the organisation
  • Ability to organise work and be self-motivated
  • Flexible working hours at month end in order to ensure all payments received are allocated correctly
  • Experience of working in a high pressured environment

Experience / skills regarded as ideal but not essential

  • Accounting knowledge
  • Previous experience of Autoline accounting system would be an advantage
